Fabio Quartararo believed to be in danger of failing to become world champion MotoGP 2022. El Diablo’s motorcycle, YZR-M1 is considered to be lacking in power.
On the race MotoGP Japan 2022, Sunday (25/9/2022), Quartararo finished eighth. He devoured 24 laps with a time of 42 minutes 39.367 seconds, 10.193 seconds slower than Jack Miller who won the race.
Quartararo is still at the top of the standings MotoGP 2022. He collected as many as 219 points, 18 points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia as his toughest competitor.
Bagnaia failed to pick up points at Motegi last weekend. Pecco crashes on the last lap.
The 1999 MotoGP world champion, Alex Criville, confirmed that Quartararo there could be difficulties in the remaining four MotoGP 2022 series. This weekend’s race will feature the Thailand MotoGP race at the Buriram circuit.
“Despite the fall of Pecco Bagnaia and the technical problems of Aleix Espargaro, which have made both of them fail to score points, Fabio Quartararo continues to not find the ideal setting. Obviously, Yamaha is still lacking acceleration and lacking power,” said Criville di Marca.
“The French rider can’t fight with the leading group and finish eighth. If it continues like this, his rivals will be able to chase him. There are four races left until the end of the season, but you never know,” he added.
In Buriram in 2019, Quartararo managed to occupy the second podium. At that time, Marc Marquez was the winner.
